By the words of Evolution CPO Todd Haushalter, early Lightning Blackjack games just weren’t fun. Haushalter explained that the prototypes resembled blackjack variations rather than the famous Twenty-One. Primarily, they pre-selected a few cards with assigned multipliers. What this resulted in was excessive splitting opportunities. Namely, looking to win multipliers cards only, players would split their hands more often than recommended. To prevent overspending and advocate responsible gambling, Evolution changed Lightning Blackjack. The final version coming out in 2021 is the best possible Lightning Blackjack you could imagine.

Instead of designating a handful of lightning cards, Evolution took a different approach.

To win Lightning Blackjack, you just need to have a winning hand. Then, in the next round, your win will be created on a multiplier basis. Also, the better your hand, the bigger your multiplier will be.

To exemplify, if you hit a blackjack, your multiplier will be higher than if you beat the dealer with a 19. The best-case scenario, of course, is to have a natural – a blackjack with your first two cards. Lest that happens, you win the Lightning Blackjack jackpot, so to say.

To play Lightning Blackjack, place your bet as you would with any other variant. After receiving your first two cards, you may hit, stand, split, or double down. The general blackjack rules apply, plus the 6 Card Charlie. Yes, Six Card Charlie applies to Lightning Blackjack Evolution.

Lightning Blackjack might be a multiplier empire, but its basic payouts are identical to any other game of its type. Blackjack pays 3 to 2, as per usual. The dealer must stand on soft 17.

The coin sizes go from $0.10 to $1,000, with the max bet of $5,000. As an essentially high-roller game, we would not recommend it to complete beginners.

• Cards from 2 to 10 keep their pip value.
• Picture (face) cards are worth 10.
• Ace is worth either 1 (Hard Hand) or 11 (Soft Hand).

• Multipliers – When bets close, the multipliers for that round appear onscreen. If you win a round, the next round will be super sized. Multipliers apply if you win with “17 and below”, 18, 19, 20, 21, or a natural. Random multipliers go from 2x to 25x. what’s more, multipliers can be delayed and used within 90 days after reception.
• Lightning Rules – Players place an additional 100% bet for a chance to win a multiplier in the next round.

It seems that in 2021, Evolution is devoted to handing control over to the players. A similar approach is seen in Cash or Crash and Crazy Time.
