Aces and Eights by RTG

Part of what made video poker games so great were the little differences in each machine! All of them follow the same design principle of having five cards and forming winning combinations with them. What helped individual releases stand out were the little things it offered on top of that! For Aces and Eights, it was the possibility to score some extra wins with four cards.

Like all video poker games, this one also uses a random number generator to determine what cards are drawn. You play this release solo, so there are no betting timers rushing you to make a decision. The animations look good, though we do wish we had an option to speed them up.

The first thing you should do after launching Aces and Eights is setting your wager. You do this by changing the number of coins per payline and the value of an individual coin. Put them together, and you get your available betting range! Set it to suit your budget, and start spinning!

After adjusting your total bet, click or tap the Deal button to continue. The game will reveal five cards on the playing field. If some cards form a winning combination, it will be highlighted on the reel above. You can choose what cards you want to hold. Any cards you do not hold will be discarded and drawn again.

With the re-draw finished, the game will look at the five cards you currently have, and attempt to form a winning combination. Wins are determined by the strength of your poker hand. The better the hand, the stronger the reward for winning it!

One more aspect that will affect how much you win is your total bet. The number of coins ramps up the payouts. If you want to win Aces and Eights’ maximum jackpot, you will need to play it at max coin bet! To win, you need at least a Jacks or Better. Additionally, four sevens, four eights and four Aces will pay a cash prize equal to or better than a Straight Flush!

The weakest win in this RTG release is Jacks or Better with just a single coin, which rewards just one coin. Meanwhile, a royal flush with all five coins active will pay a mouth-watering 4000 coins!

If you score a win, you will be prompted to participate in a Double or Nothing bonus. The cards are reshuffled, and one card is set face up. You get to click on the four remaining cards to preserve one, though you do not see which one it is. The four cards are then flipped face up. If you get another winning combination, you double your initial win!
