Have you ever wanted a less aggressive version of blackjack? If so, then European Blackjack may be right up your alley. While definitely not everyone’s cup of tea, it has enough to attract a sizeable audience. If you are interested in checking it out, then RTG has a great version that you can try out!

From the start, it goes all in on presentation in order to keep your attention. The table looks crisp, and the controls are very easy to use. Animation quality is top notch as well. The cards are dealt and flipped quickly and look good through it all! There are no side bets in this release.

Upon first launching European Blackjack, you will be asked to place a bet. To do this, simply choose from the available coins, which you can find sitting on the table. Click the coin to place it on the Ante bet, and click the circle to remove any wagers from that position. There is no time limit, allowing you to place bets and make decisions without pressure.

Once you are finished, the cards are dealt. You receive two cards, while the dealer only draws one. Unlike standard blackjack, we do not see the dealer’s hole card. At this point, you will be asked to hit, stand, double or split your hand. Keep in mind that some options are only available under specific circumstances.

To win, your hand needs to get as close to 21 as possible without going over. That results in a bust, which is an automatic loss. Both the dealer and player can bust. If neither side busts, then the side closer to 21 wins the round. Getting exactly 21 with your first two cards awards a blackjack win.

You can wager anywhere between $1 and $250 with every round. If you score a blackjack win, you will receive a 3:2 payout. Meanwhile, successfully guessing an Insurance bet earns you a 2:1 score. All other wins pay 1:1.

European Blackjack does not allow you to double on any hand. Instead, you can only double if your hand total is nine, ten or eleven. Splits can only be done with tens, jacks, queens and kings, and can only be split once.

It is worth noting that RTG’s release does not have any side bets. This is great news for punters who do not want to be distracted by those options. However, their absence does put this table behind other competitors.
