Ever since the first online casinos were launched online gaming has gone from strength to strength, and even more so since the advent of mobile gaming as players can literally play their favourite casino games virtually anywhere they want and at any time of the day. A recent survey from comScore has revealed that gamers in the UK have doubled since the beginning of 2011, with the figures going on to show that a staggering number of 20million people a month are actively playing mobile casino games.
The report from the market research firm comScore reveals that an average 6.2million people play their favourite casino games on their smart phones each day in the UK, and there are 20million active mobile gamers in total. The figures also went on to show that women are more active then men as 52% of gamers are women and 48% are men.
Mobile gaming means players can play when and wherever they want, but the figures from comScore suggest that players still prefer to play from the comfort of their own homes as 64% of gamers play from their front room, with 45% playing from the bedroom and nearly a quarter of all gamers, 23%, play from their bathroom or toilet! That puts a whole new spin on the term spending a penny doesn't it!
Overall the figures go to prove that mobile gaming is as popular as ever, with nearly one in three people in the UK alone, playing casinos and slots via this particular method. It also begs the question what on earth did people do before mobile gaming was first introduced?
