Famous online slot Great Rhino is getting a sequel.
Leading online casino supplier Pragmatic Play has inked a deal with Big Time Gaming to revamp the original 2018 game. According to the announcement, the refurbished slot will sport the legendary BTG mechanic Megaways.
Twenty Goes Megaways!
Let’s remind ourselves of the original slot. Great Rhino came out in 2018 with a 5×3 reel grid with 20 paylines. As such, it did not stand out in the crowd, at least configuration-wise. However, players recognized the immersive quality of Great Rhino and made it a fan-favorite.
After two years of successful performance, Pragmatic Play deduced that it was time to modernize the video slot. Therefore, the firm contacted the Australian’s casino innovator BTG and the deal was inked.
Big Time Gaming (BTG) came up with the Megaways mechanic years ago. Ever since, the developer has featured the system in each of its online slots. Some of the most notable titles include Extra Chilli Megaways, Bonanza Megaways and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
Winning Ways Are Stomping
Great Rhino takes place in the African Savannah. The game’s dominant figure is the almighty animal. Other high denomination symbols are flamingos, cheetahs, hyenas and alligators. Regarding the bonus rounds, particularly popular has been the Super Spin one. To date, it is one of the best-performing video slots in Pragmatic Play’s catalogue.
Melissa Summerfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Pragmatic PlayDivine Showdown, talked about the slot.
“Great Rhino™ is one of our most appreciated video slots. So revamping it with Megaways™ is a step towards gaining more ground in the current video slot market.
“Rethinking one of our top-performing games will push it forward to a wider audience. We’re eager to see how the video slot evolves after launching the sequel.”
Nik Robinson, CEO of Big Time Gaming, expressed excitement.
“It brings attitude and excitement and we love how the mechanic has been used to create a standout slot. I’m very confident this will be a huge success and players are going to love it.”
