UK gaming giants Praesepe have today agreed a sponsorship deal with the Great Britain Taekwondo Team, after earlier in the year agreeing to sponsor London 2012 gold medallist Jade Jones. Also the sponsorship deal will see Praesepe sponsor the inaugural World Taekwondo Grand Prix as well, an event that is being staged in Manchester during December.
Praesepe operate 170 adult gaming centres throughout the UK and it is their Cashino and Beacon Bingo brands that will be at the forefront of their latest deal. The CEO at Praesepe Nick Harding said “After agreeing a deal to sponsor Jade, the next logical step was the senior GB team and the World Taekwondo Grand Prix both of which we have now concluded. The sponsorship will work on a number of levels both in terms of engaging with our 1,200 staff and the 500,000 customers who each year frequent our 170 venues and bingo clubs throughout Britain.”
Steve Flynn is the Operations Director of GB Taekwondo and he is “delighted” with the new sponsorship deal. In a press release he said, “We’re delighted to be working with a patriotic organisation that is committed to supporting our GB team in its preparations for both the World Taekwondo Grand Prix and our long term target Rio 2016. The partnership will enable us to promote the sport to a wider audience whilst enabling us to engage with Cashino and Beacon staff and customers alike, giving them direct access to a unique and dynamic Olympic sport.”
It is good to see organisations like Praesepe getting behind the so called lesser Olympic sports like Taekwondo, a move that is sure to make them even more popular than they already are.
