Stockholm-listed iGaming giant NetEnt has penned a contract with Australian brand ReelPlay. Namely, the two companies had developed similar slot reel mechanics. Under the contract, they both look to strengthen their rights concerning their respective marks InfiniReels and Infinity Reels.
Two Leaders
NetEnt and ReelPlay are leading providers of premium gaming solutions to casino operations. As such, they look to create the best advancements in the industry. That’s how it occurred that both firms developer a similar technology.
ReelPlay launched its Infinity Reels mechanic in November 2019. The first game to feature it was El Dorado Infinity Reels. The sequel to the narrative appeared in early 2020 with the title Giza Infinity Reels. In June 2020, ReelPlay looks to roll out Odin Infinity Reels.
Simultaneously, NetEnt announced the launch of debut InfiniReels game, Gods of Gold InfiniReels for 14th May 2020. The conflict appeared due to the similarities of the names.
How They Resolved It
Under the contract, both parties will work together to extend and protect their respective franchises of InfiniReels and Infinity Reels.
Bryan Upton, Director Games at NetEnt, commented on the deal.
