Over the last few weeks we have brought you a host of news stories regarding online gaming companies and their sponsorship of major sporting events and their sponsorship of individual sports teams. Today is the turn of online gaming and sportsbook specialists Marathonbet, who have been announced as the major shirt sponsors for English Premier League side Fulham.
Marathonbet will see their logo emblazoned across the shirts of Fulham for the next two seasons, and they also have the option to extend the agreement to a third year should both parties agree. Alistair Mackintosh is the Chief Executive Officer at Craven Cottage and he add this to say about his clubs new sponsors. He said, “I’m delighted that Marathonbet has joined us as our main sponsor and we look forward to working with them in the future. As a dynamic and inventive brand, I believe Marathonbet shares the club’s objectives in terms of development and innovation.”
Graham Luke is the CEO and President at Marathonbet and he had this to say about his companies two year deal with Fulham. He said, “Fulham is the ideal partner and ideal platform from which Marathonbet can introduce itself as the sportsbook ‘where the world comes to play'.”
Watford, Aston Villa, Leeds United, Crawley Town and league newcomers Newport County have all signed major sponsorship deals with online gaming companies in recent weeks, and it comes as no surprise that another has announced a new deal.
Fulham are one of the so called smaller clubs in the top flight of English football, but over the years they have more than held their own and regularly finish in and around the top 10. The new investment from Marathonbet will no doubt help them push on from last seasons finish of 12th place and their supporters will no doubt be hoping for another successful year in the top flight, and who knows they could be pushing for a European place come the end of the season and be challenging in the two domestic cup competitions as well.
