Scarab Queen Slots

We’ve seen cases of confused identity when it comes to slots. Clones are prevalent, and really, who’s going to remember every single name? But we’ve yet to see a company make two identical games with different names. Is it called Scarab Queen or Pharaoh’s Daughter? Only Playtech knows, and they’re not telling us anything. This release is played on a 5x3 board with 50 fixed paylines. You have access to two special features. The first is a free spins round, triggered when you find 3 or more Scatters in a single turn. The second bonus is Fire Blaze Re-spins, which has a chance of awarding one of four fixed jackpots.

How to Play

You can see the artists really stuck close to an Ancient Egypt theme. The background image couldn’t be more stereotypical even if it tried. It has palm trees, beautiful sand, and as many pyramids as your heart desires! We can’t deny that it looks cool, but we do wish there was a little more originality in this slot. Scarab Queen is played on a 5-reel board, where each reel is three symbols tall. To win, collect three or more identical icons in adjacent positions, starting with the leftmost reel. All wins must follow one of the currently active paylines or else the cash prize won’t be awarded.

Betting Options and Payout

Choosing your total bet is super simple. No need to worry about individual coin values or turning paylines on or off. Just tap the plus and minus buttons on each side of the Total Bet indicator. This allows you to adjust your wager directly, without having to translate from coin to real money. You can bet between $0.25 and $500 on each spin. This slot has medium to high variance with an RTP of 96.5%, which is above the current industry average. The jackpot is 2,000x your total stake, which is a pretty great prize for this volatility. You’ll have to get super lucky with re-spins to win it, so cross your fingers and hope you get lucky!

Symbols and Extra Features

Ancient Egypt worship continues with symbol designs. You have your usual fare: ankhs, cat statues, eyes of Horus and scarabs. But we were quite pleased to see even playing card royals have a slight Egyptian décor! Find three or more Scatters in any position to win 8 free spins. If three more Scatters appear while free spins are already being played, 8 more extra turns are awarded. It is possible to win re-spins while free spins are already active. If six or more Sun icons land on the playing field, they activate Fire Blaze Re-spins. You get 3 re-spins, during which only Sun or Jackpot Star symbols can appear. If a Sun lands, the number of re-spins is reset to 3. This continues until the board is full of Sun icons, or no new symbols appear. A Jackpot Star will award one of three fixed jackpots. To win the most valuable one, you need a full screen of Sun symbols.

Our Verdict

Honestly, we’re still not quite sure what’s going on with the name. Scarab Queen or Pharaoh’s Daughter, this is a game that will be familiar to many players. Why? Because it’s a carbon copy of Sky Queen with an Egyptian theme instead of a Mayan one.
