Perfect Pair Blackjack
Arrow’s Edge’s Perfect Pair Blackjack is a well-designed Blackjack game that brings extra winning opportunities through a number of possible side bets. The aim of the game, like in nearly all versions of Blackjack, is to build a hand of cards that has a value as close to 21 as possible but without exceeding it. If your hand is closer than the dealer’s is then you win. The game is played with six decks of cards, it is possible to play up to three hands simultaneously and with the exception of the side bets, it follows the standard Blackjack rules.
How to PlayTo start a round you need to bet on the hand positions that you want to play. Set your chip value using the arrow controls and then place chips in the betting area of each hand. You can then place the Perfect Pair side bet in the ‘PP’ positions above each hand. When you are done click on ‘Deal’ and you will receive two face-up cards to each active position. At the same time the dealer’ receives their cards. For each hand you are then given a number of options. The main two are ‘Hit’ (receive another card) or ‘Stand’ (leave the hand as it is). However, you also have the option to ‘Double’ your bet if the hand looks promising and if the two cards dealt are identical you can also ‘Split’ them into two separate hands that are played individually. If the dealer is showing an Ace as their first card then it is possible to take out Insurance against them having Blackjack. If the dealer then does have Blackjack Insurance is paid out at 2 to 1. When you are finished the dealer will play, they always draw cards until their hand is worth at least 16 and stand when it is worth 17. In Blackjack Aces are worth either 1 or 11, the cards 2 through to 10 are worth their face values and all the face cards are worth 10. The strongest hand is called Blackjack and consists of an Ace and a ten card. After the dealer has finished playing the winnings are paid out.
Perfect Pair Side BetsThis version of Blackjack is unique in that it allows players to bet on the first two cards dealt forming a pair. There are three types of pair that can be formed that will result in a payout. A Perfect Pair is two cards that are exactly the same, for instance two Seven of Clubs. A Black/Red Pair is two cards that have the same value but from different suits, for instance a Three of Hearts and a Three of Spades. A Colored Pair is two cards that have the same value and color, for instance a Seven of Diamonds and a Seven of Hearts.
Betting Options and PayoutYou can bet anything from $1 right up to $200 on the hands and it is possible to place bets of up to $25 on the Perfect Pair side bet. All winning hands are paid out at 1 to 1 while Blackjack is paid out at 3 to 2. A Perfect Pair pays out at 30 to 1, a Colored Pair pays out at 10 to 1 and a Black/Red Pair pays out at 5 to 1.
