About a year after Pragmatic Play introduced us to Lucky’s Wild Pub, we are heading back into the online slot for another round. Of course, the sequel would not be that without the host, a cheerful leprechaun and his staff that are present on and off the grid.  Lucky’s Wild Pub 2 follows a famous recipe for slot success: a three-pot modifier formula that trigger bonus rounds with one or more modifiers active during coin collection.

Visually, the game might not look too original. It’s a bit too similar to another one of their famous releases (Chests of Cai Shen 2). Still, it’s Pragmatic Play that’s almost mass-producing slots every month, and such a great output is bound to feature similarities across their slot. We’ll see how that affects our impression of this game below. For now, we can say that this is a 5×3 slot with 25 lines, a decent RTP and high variance, and a higher-than-most win potential of 15,000x. Is Lucky’s Wild Pub 2 worth it? Let’s see.

Lucky’s Wild Pub 2 is played on a 5×3 grid with 25 fixed paylines – no more, no less.

Wins on the grid form when matching symbols land on adjacent reels from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel. In other words, pretty standard.

The symbol set includes 10-A cards that represent the lower part of the paytable. On the other hand, clover-imprinted bread loaves, harps, a lady character, glasses of beer, and leprechaun characters serve as premium icons. Wilds appear on all reels except the first one (leftmost) and can virtually stand in for every other icon except bonus coins and money symbols.

Three colored pots sit above the reels. These are important: each of them is collecting its respective colored coins, and each has its own modifier that can trigger once the pot is full. For example, Purple coins feed the Multiplier Zone modifier, red coins feed the Doublin’ modifier, and green coins feed the Life modifier.

The game also has a Feature Buy, but be careful as this might not be available in every market.

Theme & Design

Lucky’s Wild Pub 2 has the same theme as its predecessor. It’s an Irish-themed slot with leprechauns releasing in March, just a week before St Patrick’s Day. It’s very clearly a seasonal game geared for the Irish holiday.

The color palette is almost entirely made up of greens, golds, and warm browns. To be fair, the design looks exactly as you’d expect from an Irish slot set in a pub: wood, green velvet, and soft yellow and gold lighting. Even the icons on the grid are designed with Celtic fonts in mind. All in all, a pretty solid design, even though it’s nothing special but it looks more than okay.

Betting in the game spans $0.25 to $250 per spin, which is the usual for Pragmatic Play. Almost all of their games are fit for both casual players and high rollers who prefer higher bets. The winning potential in the game is also solid – 15,000x – but it’s more for punters with deeper pockets as it also has high volatility. Coin Collection

During the base game, there are three pots that are sitting atop the grid. They are linked to three different types of coins that appear on the grid below. When coins land, they are collected into a pot – and each has a corresponding modifier as well.

• Purple Coin: Multiplier Zone Modifier. When this coin lands, it’s collected. If the Pot Respins are triggered, four zones will highlight the grid. Each zone on the grid gets a random multiplier from 2x to 100x. When a zone fills completely with money symbols, all values within that zone multiply by its assigned multiplier.
• Red Coin: Doublin’ Modifier. When collected and Pot Respins trigger, the feature plays across two separate 5×3 grids simultaneously. Each grid starts with the triggering bonus coins transformed into money symbols, effectively doubling collection opportunities.
• Green Coin: Life Modifier. When collected and Pot Respins trigger, the feature starts with 4 respins instead of the standard 3, providing additional opportunities to land sticky money symbols.

Collection occurs at each spin’s conclusion. When Pot Respins trigger, one, two, or three modifiers activate randomly based on which coin types have been collected. Bear in mind that modifiers can combine and interact if they are triggered at the same time. For example, you can get Multiplier Zone + Doublin’, or Multiplier Zone + Life. It’s also possible to combine Doublin’ + Life. Finally, if you get all three, you unlock maximum potential of all three modifiers.

Pot Respins

The main bonus feature awards 3 respins (4 with Life modifier is active) where only specific symbols can land. It’s either money symbols with values from 0.6x to 30x, Mini (10x), Minor (20x), Major (150x) fixed prizes, or blanks. A Hold & Win feature, to be honest.

How it works is similar to every other Hold & Spin feature. The round triggers, you get 3-4 Respins, and then the grid starts to roll. If there’s a new money symbol landing on the grid, the Respin count resets to 3 (or 4), while respins without any new symbol end up reducing the counter.

Ultimately, the round ends either when you are left with no remaining respins deplete or all 15 positions on the grid are filled. Once the round ends, you get the final payout equal to the sum of all money symbol values (with applicable multipliers). Don’t forget the Grand Prize.  Filling all 15 grid positions awards the 5,000x Grand prize on top of what you collected in the round previously.

Feature Buy Options

The game is also a Buy Bonus slot. You can pay 100x for a standard round, or 500x for a premium round. The standard option triggers Pot Respins with Multiplier Zone guaranteed, plus up to two additional modifiers randomly selected. The premium option is the same as standard buy, except one zone is guaranteed to have the 100x multiplier.

RTP & Volatility

The 96.5% RTP is a solid one. It’s not that high, but it’s slightly industry average, so it’s good. It’s paired with a high variance so it’s a fun game to explore considering the combo of the theme, max payouts, and tech background. The only advice we can give you is to pay attention to the game’s temperament. Set up a budget, know how much you can spare to wager, and stick to the plan. If you enter a dry spell, consider taking a break – it might be a smarter choice to protect your assets.

Our Experience Playing Lucky’s Wild Pub 2

Base game session were a bit uneventful, the only thing that we looked forward were the Coins for the pots. We triggered the Pot Respins a few times, and the impression was that it was good. Not great not terrible, as we like to say. All in all, an okay experience.

It would probably be better if the studio found a way to introduce something else to the game to give it a bit more character. This way, it’s simply a sequel to a popular game, but we are not that certain it’s going to become popular in its own right. Still, a game you should check out if you are on a lookout for a St Patrick’s Day slot with Irishmen, leprechauns, pots of riches, pubs, and ale.
