Jelly, cream, sweets, and candy are stars of the Jellycious DoubleMax slot from Yggdrasil that came out in August 2024. Jellycious DoubleMax is a candy-themed slot, and though Yggdrasil is no stranger to candy, Jellycious seemed to be a bit of a challenge for the game-maker. All players who enjoy games with intense gameplay will probably steer clear of Jellycious as they consider the game to be tame (given its theme) but it’s actually a fast-paced game with strong potential. still, we cannot get over the 94% RTP that means players have to be extra careful when placing wagers.

In the base game, players face a 5-reel grid with 3 rows and 243 ways to win, and every win adds Multipliers and Wilds to the game. In Free Spins, Wilds land and Multipliers unlock but they do not reset after every spin as in the base game.

Bets in Jellycious DoubleMax begin with $0.10 bets. That’s the lowest you can go for a regular spin in the game. If you want to go with the highest possible bet, you will have to prepare a bet that’s $40 – that’s the maximum.

Payouts include 8 paying icons, split into low-rank and high-rank tiles.  Card suits Spades, Clubs, Hearts, and Diamonds painted on crackers pay 0.50x for 5 matching icons, as they are low-rank. On the other hand, the candy and sweets such as candies, ice cream, cupcakes, and a gummy bear pay from 1x to 2.50x for 5 matching icons on a payline.

The game is very volatile with a 94% RTP, which makes it less than ideal for casual players and punters who don’t like to invest big money on games. You can win up to 25,000x but that’s difficult – a more realistic scenario is to win a moderate win during the session.

DoubleMax Wins and Multipliers

In every win, winning icons that contributed to the win explode. Their explosion leaves behind vacancies to be filled with icons that drop from above. However, every win explosion also creates a Wild that is added to the reels. The drops of icons and exploding wins continue until there are winning combos to create.

Moreover, every winning combo explosion also increases the Win Multiplier by 1x. The Multiplier is progressive, which means it increases until there are no other new wins and the spin resets.

Free Spins

Free Spins are the main game feature as they have the best winning odds and payouts.  Spins are unlocked by Scatters – 3, 4 or 5 needed to generate 7, 9, or 11 Free Spins, respectively. As soon as the regular base game spin ends with Scatters, the Free Spins start. In Free Spins, Wilds land only on the first three reels.
