French Roulette by Microgaming

Ask any roulette fan, and they will tell you French Roulette is the best version. Not only for the exotic names but because these games come with special rules that benefit players. As a result, it can be challenging to find a French Roulette table! That said, if you look carefully, you will find Microgaming might have stashed a few in your favourite online casino!

One thing to note is that this is an older game. As a result, it looks worse compared to modern, sleek roulette tables. We advise sticking to it. After all, you would be hard-pressed to find an RNG powered table that offers the coveted La Partage rule!

La Partage is a rule unique to French Roulette and is only active on even money bets. If the ball lands on zero, the money is not lost. Instead, the cash is held until the next round. If you win an even money bet, you get those funds back. In case of a loss, you lose that money too. In all other aspects, Microgaming’s French Roulette is identical to European Roulette.

There are multiple ways to place a bet, but the simplest is to take a coin value and place it on the board. This release highlights what numbers will be wagered on when you mouse over a specific bet.

Almost every special bet can be accessed through Call Bets. Unfortunately, it does not highlight numbers on the board. Instead, it tells you the numbers in a small textbox, which you might miss if you move your mouse quickly. Players can also repeat previous bets, or set up an Autoplay system.

You can wager anywhere between $0.10 and $3400 on each spin. Keep in mind that not all fields allow the same bet level. You cannot stake more than $80 on even money bets, while straight number wagers are limited to $10 per number.

Microgaming’s release uses both French words and their English translations. This makes it easier to learn the ropes while playing this roulette version. Available outside bets include Odd/Even, High/Low, Red/Black, column and dozen. The first three are considered even money bets and pay 1:1. Column and dozen bets pay 2:1 instead.

For inside bets, the payout increases the higher the risk. Low risk inside wagers like line and square bets pay 5:1 and 8:1, respectively. As you increase the risk, the payout increases substantially! Street, split and straight up stakes pay 11:1, 17:1 and 35:1, respectively when won.

Using the Call Bets section, you can play Voisins, Tiers and Orphelins bets directly from the menu. It also gives you access to several special wagers, such as all bets ending with a certain number.

Neighbour bets can be placed via Edit layout, or by placing a bet on one number and clicking the Neighbour button.
