While Jackie Chan is no longer the movie legend he used to be, his movies are still appreciated by an older crowd that enjoyed them during their primetime. He wasn’t the first to take that kung-fu action movie flick, but he was hands down one of the most successful when it came to popularizing it. And Jackie Chan has been making movies for a long time, to the point where there’s relatively obscure, Chinese films in which he only has a side role while he was still trying to get his big break into the movie business, and for many, it’s in this movie that Jackie finally stepped into the limelight to show off that he can carry that lead role. This game is part of a series that RTG are releasing based around classic Hong Kong action flicks. It offers gamblers a 5×3 playing field with 25 flexible paylines, allowing gamblers to turn them on and off at will. The big draw is the prospect of winning that juicy progressive jackpot, but on top of that, the developers left behind some goodies for gamblers who are willing to find them – Wild that doubles all wins it is a part of and Scatters that reward free spins with increased multipliers.

When it comes to graphics, the developer certainly knows how to make the slot atmospheric. The downpour of rain over an idyllic Chinese village is gorgeous, and we like the reels being done as strips of paper. The view is peaceful and calm, much like the village itself is in the movie before the Japanese invasion happens and Jackie Chan and his comrades have to fight off the enemies who want to take their home. Not too much to praise or commend here, but we do wish some light animation in the backdrop was happening, as it would make the rain a lot smoother to watch.

On the gameplay side of things, it plays with a clear focus being wrapped around the progressive jackpot. There’s no denying there are some good scores you win from the RTG’s release, but there’s also the fact that there’s quite a bit of downtime in between those wins. There is a single special feature that helps spice things up from the regular spin and wait cycle, and we can’t help but feel that maybe one more on top of that would have done the trick.
