Book of Riches Deluxe

RubyPlay’s Book of Riches Deluxe will seem immediately familiar if you’ve played the regular version of Book of Riches. It’s hard to call this game a true sequel. Released in the same year, the Deluxe version is more of an expansion or alternate version. The theme, core gameplay, and most of the features are nearly identical. Don’t worry if you’re unfamiliar with the base version though – we’ll still cover most of these.

As we’ve mentioned, the aesthetics of this game are pretty much the same, barring a few new symbols. This means it’s a shiny, well-polished online slot game that’s sure to catch your eye. However, you’ll also notice the colourful Jackpot banners at the top. These can be won by hitting the new Orb symbols. These are unique to Book of Riches Deluxe online slots, and we’ll explain what they do a bit further down.

For now, we’ll point out the well-designed user interface. It features everything an online slots fan could want – customizable autoplay, turbo mode, and bet adjustments. Book of Riches Deluxe bets range from €0.10 to €20. This may be a bit low for high-rollers but is still enough for the majority of players.

If we had one complaint, it would be that the information screen does a poor job of explaining some things. Namely, the new Orb symbols are vague and required some testing on our part. No worries – that’s why we’ll explain how to play Book of Riches Deluxe.

First of all, all of the symbols and mechanics from Book of Riches are still in play. There are 9 standard symbols in total, the best of which offer a 500x payout. This number can be significantly improved with multipliers that apply during free spins – up to 200x.

The addition of the orbs, however, is the main attraction here. These can pay out fixed amounts going all the way up to €500, which is quite interesting. On the flip side, the increased variance of the new Jackpots negatively impacts the Book of Riches Deluxe RTP rate. It’s estimated at 94.49% compared to the first game’s 94.89%. The difference is nearly negligible – but it’s there.

Adding more mechanics to the already long list of Book of Riches features complicates things a bit.

• Scatter/Wilds – Book of Riches is a Wild symbol and can substitute any non-orb symbol. They also pay out anywhere on the table.
• Growing Symbol – A golden symbol may appear with each spin that expands to fill out the reel it’s on.
• Orbs – Green or even Gold orbs can appear with a random value attached to them. This can be a fixed payout, like €100, or one of 4 possible Jackpots – Mini, Minor, Major, or Grand. 6 of these on the table trigger Jackpot Mania.

These special symbols sometimes trigger one of 2 special game modes.

• 3 or more Scatter/Wild symbols will activate Free Spin mode. You get 10 spins, and all payouts are multiplied by 2x, 20x, or 200x depending on the number of Wilds.
• Jackpot Mania is the Deluxe version’s arguably best feature. When triggered, you’ll get 3 respins for free. The orbs stay on the reels, and you get additional respins each time a new orb hits. This continues until you have no more spins, at which point the orbs combine into a massive payout. If all 15 positions are orbs, you’re awarded the Grand Jackpot.
