After cashing out the $11 million Mega Moolah jackpot, Microgaming keeps on giving. The Isle of Man based iGaming company continues its charity work. Just like in six previous years, its trademark Gift of Giving event took place in April.

This year, Microgaming has donated a gift of £30,000.

A Bighearted Giant

Many years ago, Microgaming launched its staff-led CSR initiative Play It Forward. The aim behind it is to be there for the society in times of need. And what better time than now when the whole world is fighting the novel coronavirus?

Using the annual Gift of Giving campaign as a means, Microgaming donated a sum of £30k.

With the last donation of £30,000, the total amount has reached a whopping £210,000 to date.

Gift of Giving is a yearly campaign by Microgaming and its partners. Every year, there is a voting scheme to decide where the donation should go. They focus the donations to worthy causes in their regions.

Looking Back

Last year, in 2019, Microgaming turned to six global charities. The donation totalling £30,000 has been divided among the following programs:

  • Save the Children (United Kingdom)
  • WaterAid (Africa)
  • Foodbank Lifeline Foundation (Malta)
  • Childline (Gibraltar)
  • Unicef (Rest of the World)
  • GamCare (inaugural responsible gambling category)

John Coleman, CEO of Microgaming, thanked everyone supporting the annual campaign of Gift of Giving.

“Involving the wider industry in CSR is important to us at Microgaming, giving back is what we are all about.”

Coleman congratulated the winning charities and said,

“We hope these donations will help you to keep doing what you do best.”

Gift of Giving was conceived in 2013.

Katie Searles from Save the Children was grateful to Microgamign and everyone who voted for the movement. “This generous donation will help Save the Children continue its work supporting every child to become who they want to be.”

Diana Nye, Acting Chairperson at Foodbank Lifeline Foundation, also commented. “A huge thank you to Microgaming PlayItForward on behalf of all of us here at Foodbank Lifeline Foundation.”

Furthermore, Annie Green, Chair of Trustees at Childline Gibraltar, thanked the benefactors. “Childline Gibraltar’s Helpline services are available to children and young people every day of the year. It is a free, private and confidential service where you can talk about anything.”

Catriona Parry, Corporate Partnerships Team at Unicef, declared, “We’re hugely grateful to receive this gift from Microgaming,

Finally, Anna Hemmings, CEO at GamCare, concluded.

“We’re grateful to Microgaming for naming us as beneficiary of the Gift of Giving campaign this year. This will contribute to our wider work in minimising gambling-related harm, helping us to reach the people who need us.”
