Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, many providers integrated changes in their headquarters.
For instance, Play’n GO condemned advertising during the coronavirus outbreak. On the other hand, the Portuguese government has set up limits for online gambling for the duration of the lockdown.
Evolution Gaming was another software developer to introduce alterations for the time being.
A Pause on Tbilisi
In late March, Evolution temporarily closed down its casino studio in Tbilisi, Georgia. At the time, the number of employees was naturally reduced. And while it was unpleasant news, other studios throughout Europe continued to host Evolution’s games.
In March, the pandemic was at its peak in the region. Thus the Georgian government instructed the Latvian company to temporarily halt the business in the local studio.
The Tbilisi studio complied with the current guidelines concerning social distancing. The firm took an extensive number of infection prevention measures in the studio. Evolution has always been in close contact with local authorities. Even back then, it seemed plausible that the studio would reopen soon.
Welcome back to Georgia
In the first week of April, Georgian government permitted Evolution to reopen the studio. Now, the company is proud to announce that it is again open for business. The studio adheres to all the rules issued by the WHO (World Health Organization). However, the Riga live casino giant had to limit the studio’s capacity. It reopened on 4th April 2020.
As the authorities approved the reopening in the new state, it is safe to go back to the venue. During the quarantine, other Evolution casino studios took over the operations.
In other news, Evolution has published the interim report for January – March 2020. The results show that the revenue has amounted to €115 million. The sum is a 45% percent year-on-year. Additionally, the EBITDA has come to €64 million with a margin of 55.7%. All in all, it looks like a great financial start for the company in the first quarter of 2020.
