Sponsorship of sporting events has always taken place, but since the introduction of online casinos and online sports betting facilities the number of events have grown significantly in the last decade. One of the most well known online companies is bwin.com who are well known for their sponsorship of Real Madrid, but they also sponsor a host of other events too, with one such event being the MotoGP. They have now announced an extension to their MotoGP deal too, a deal they first signed in 2004, but will now run until the end of the 2015 season.
Norbert Teufelberger in the CEO for bwin.party who are based in Gibraltar and he had the following to say about the contract extension. He said, “We are proud to be extending our partnership with the MotoGP World Championship for another two seasons. The MotoGP World Championship is one of most exciting sports in the world and is a perfect fit for the bwin.com brand.”
Pau Serracant is the Commercial Area Managing Director for Dorna Sports who have been linked with MotoGP since 1992 and he was also very happy with the new deal. He said, “I'm very happy about this renewal we are announcing today. Mainly because it is a sign that the relationship between bwin.com and the MotoGP World Championship is firmly established still ten years after it was started. I am sure that this new two-year agreement will last several more as the success of this partnership has more than satisfied both parties.”
Both parties seem extremely happy with the current arrangement then, and there appears to be a long and successful future ahead for both and there appears no reason why they cannot extend their current deal for another 11 years and beyond.
