Craps 101

So, the rounds start with the come-out rolls. The shooter rolls the dice first. In online craps, there is no throwing dice – you only click the Play button. Three possible outcomes of the first roll exist – a natural, craps, or point.

When the shooter scores 7 or 11 in the first dice throw, he’s a natural. This is an instant win, and the shooter gets to play again.

On the other hand, craps refer to the outcome of 2, 3, or 12. This is an instant loss.

For instance, if the outcome is a 4, the shooter throws the dice again in hopes of landing a 4 again. Simply put, he is now chasing his point. To win, the player must throw a 4 before throwing a 7. The Table Layout

One of the most common bets in craps is the Pass/Don’t Pass Line.

The bet has its designated area where players place chips when they want to wager on the shooter’s come out roll. This Pass/Don’t Pass Line essentially refers to two betting options: either you bet that the shooter will win, or you bet that he’ll lose.

After the first (come out) roll, players cannot bet on the Pass/Don’t Pass Lines anymore. Instead, they can bet on the Come/ Don’t Come bets.

Essentially, these are just like the Pass/Don’t Pass bets, except they refer only to the rolls after the first one. You will also see the Field, which is an area where you can bet on other numbers during the roll.  The middle of the table displays a row of bets that are known as the Proposition Bets.

Craps tables typically display also the Big 6 and Big 8 bets, as well as empty spaces where you can place Odds Bets. This type of bet is free to bet, it has zero house edge, and is quite fun.

However, most tables do not mark the spot for Odds bets, so you just place the chips behind your chips on the Pass line.
