- Could you start by introducing yourself?
I'm Johan Persson, founder and CEO of Just For The Win studios. I've been in gaming since 2011. My first job in the industry started at a mobile casino called LeoVegas, which turned out to be a great journey, learning many of the dos and don'ts in the industry.
- What’s your favorite thing about working with your team?
I think it's the broad experience of my closest team, which is the senior management team. There is a lot of diverse experience and knowledge, and it comes together as this big entity. It's always a great conversation in all of our meetings.
- Could you tell us about your relationship with Microgaming?
It's a very long, ongoing relationship; I've known and worked with Microgaming since 2011, and it's always been a very joyful relationship.
- Are you a player yourself and what is your favorite online slot?
I do play games; I try to play all games that come out in the marketplace. It's quite a saturated market right now, so that's a lot of games. To stay on top of our game, we encourage everyone in our company to play as many slots as possible to see what works and what doesn't, and what features are great (and not so great). We try to learn from that, so yes – I play every slot possible.

It's divided up across the team. There’s no one individual that owns the project, per se; we try to include everyone in all parts of development to understand the product inside and out. We believe that makes a better product – when everyone is on board.
- What can you tell us about the Elven Gold slot?
Elven Gold is one of our anticipated releases this summer. It’s an expansion on the success of Western Gold, where you discover a magical elven kingdom with stacked Wilds, a Buy Free Spins feature, and a max prize of 15,000x. We have very high hopes for it.
- Has the global pandemic impacted the dynamic within the company?
I do miss the culture of having people in the office who are just going to make some coffee and talking with them about general life and work, but it's otherwise been very good. We are set up as a company with three different offices in different geographic locations, so we do speak a lot by video conference or Skype. We basically went from a normal Tuesday to all working from home, and everything actually just worked out perfectly.
- What other plans does Just For The Win has for 2021?
We have an exciting roadmap ahead of us. We plan to release 12 titles this year, so the next part of this year looks to be very exciting. That's probably all I can tell you about that!
- Would you like to give any message to our players?
I'm very, very happy to have built games that actually get people engaged, and to hear that they like and play our games. It makes it easier to wake up in the morning and go to work, so thank you.
