It has been a busy few weeks in the world of sports sponsorship with a number of high profile gaming companies sponsoring sports teams all over the world. In the UK when it comes to sports betting there is one company that immediately springs to mind and this is Sky Bet, who yesterday announced they had agreed a deal with Championship football side Leeds United for this coming season.
Sky Bet have signed a deal with Leeds United to become their official betting and gaming partners for the forth coming season, a season that gets under way on Saturday 3rd August with a home game against Brighton & Hove Albion. Sky Bet will provide all the betting operations for Leeds United on match days at Elland Road next season, and they will also be extremely prominent on the clubs marketing and broadcasting platforms as well, including the Leeds United TV (LUTV) pay to view channel.
David Haigh is the Managing Director for Leeds United and he is extremely “proud” that his club are to be associated with such a huge brand. He said, “The Sky Bet brand is one of the most high profile, fastest growing brands within its sector and we are proud to be the first direct football club partnership with Sky Bet. The new partnership also means that all four stands here at Elland Road will be sponsored for the first time ever as we continue to attract high calibre sponsors to the club.”
Richard Flint is the Managing Director at Sky Bet had this to say about the agreement with Leeds United. He said, “In addition to providing in-stadium match day betting for fans, our trading team, many of whom are big Leeds United supporters, are really looking forward to working with the club to provide quality betting content for the Leeds United website using their knowledge and passion for the club. They'll also be creating exclusive markets that fans will be unlikely to find with any other betting sites or bookmakers.”
Leeds United fans will be spoilt for choice when it comes to placing their sport bets once the football season kicks off in just five weeks time, and with the investment from Sky Bet it could be a hugely successful season at Elland Road and who knows Leeds could be back in the big time when the awards are handed out at the end of the season next May.
